Fresh, talented and feisty, Afrodisiac are more than your average girlband. Stunning looks, intricate harmonies and powerhouse vocals are just a few things these ladies have to offer.
With high approval from some of the biggest names in pop, the trio has built up a large fan base and even boasts a handful of celebrity fans including members of Atomic Kitten, East 17, Another Level and Steps. They have also performed support slots for Lemar, X Factor finalists Hope, Futureproof, Aiden Grimshaw, Daniel De Bourg, Andy Williams, Beverley, Kimberly and Ben Mills.
The south’s very own pop and soul girl group have gone from strength to strength since they exploded onto the live music scene in January 2006. The trio perform a mix of upbeat covers from across the decades and can tailor their set to suit any occasion, from a wedding to a club night.
Laura, Sammi and Charmaine were first seen on The X Factor in 2006, where they made it from 150,000 hopefuls to the last 25 groups. All four judges – including Simon Cowell Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue – put them through to bootcamp. The trio were also national finalists in South Coast Idol 2007, the biggest singing competition outside TV’s X Factor, and were crowned “Best Live and Unsigned Group”.
Having thrilled audiences at venues as varied as Thorpe Park, Salisbury City Hall and Soho’s Revue bar, as well as countless holiday parks and bars and clubs across the country, Afrodisiac appeal to the masses, belting out songs by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and Lady Gaga, all in their unique style.
